D Mulley Associates originally provided consultancy advice to private and grant maintained schools on the implementation of health and safety management procedures and alternative procurement methods for construction works. The practice has since grown into one of East Anglia’s leading Health and Safety Consultancy Practice’s that provides a UK wide service within the construction and related industries.
D Mulley Associates provide a diverse range of consultancy services and offer UK wide coverage within the construction and related industries.
The practice operates from its head office set in the Suffolk countryside just outside Bury St Edmunds and a branch office in Somerset. Our staff, however, are based throughout the UK to provide comprehensive client support.
Between 2005 and 2007 the practice experienced considerable growth in workload. Recognising the need to implement a strategy to correctly manage and deliver this increased workload the decision was taken to establish DMA Health and Safety Limited, to develop and deliver the core activity of workload, namely, CDM commissions; contractor safety support services; party wall and health and safety training.
Our client base is drawn nationally and includes local authorities, housing associations, hospital trusts, schools, universities, retail, commercial and industrial clients. During the course of a year we will undertake several hundred construction related and CDM commissions on contracts ranging from a few thousand pounds to about £120m and with a total construction value of approximately a billion pounds.
Our services include:
- Project Management
- Partnering Advisors and Facilitators
- Cost Consultancy
- Quantity Surveyors
- Code for Sustainable Homes Assessments
- Eco-Homes Assessments
- Party Wall Surveyors
David Mulley worked with the HSE when the 1994 CDM Regulations were introduced as part of their seminar lecture team. Since the introduction of CDM we have maintained this close contact and during the review of the original Regulations we worked closely with the Health & Safety Executive on a major client intervention, this placing us in a unique position to provide the most comprehensive support to our Clients in respect of requirements of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007. Working closely with the majority of our established Clients we have run workshops and training presentations fully preparing and informing Clients of the new Regulations.
We are active members of Working Well Together, an organisation jointly established by HSC and contractors to promote raising standards and the improving of health, safety and welfare performance.
We are an IOSH training provider, offering a range of certified training courses. This is supported by our status as a Learning Champion, which allows us access to a wide range of training funding on behalf of our Clients.
As a practice we strive to achieve our success and commitment through team effort, and strongly advocate and promote the benefits a committed, communicative and pro-active team can bring to a project. Our commitment to our staff is recognised through our Investor in People accreditation. More recently we have received the Workwise Award that recognises an organisations understanding of well being within the workplace. DMA Health and Safety is also accredited with Constructionline, Safecontractor and Exxor. We are currently working towards Investor in Excellence accreditation.
